Bristol City Council is leading other UK local authoritiestowards the government target that all local authorities will becapable of trading electronically with suppliers by 2005.With over 19,000 suppliers, many of whom are small to medium sizedenterprises, Bristol City Council has had to find a simple, cost effective wayof ensuring that e-procurement works for Bristol's whole supply base. Duringearly trials, it became clear that for e-procurement to be successful it hadto address the needs of the buyer and the supplier.
