OrderXChange™ is the process that allows your existing e-Commerce site to send and receive orders via @UK PLC®.

E.g. A teacher shopping via your site

1/. A teacher in a school visits your website, and builds a shopping basket.

2/. The shopping basket is then transferred to the @UK PLC® schools portal @Schools or the relevant county portal.

3/. The order is then forwarded onto the Schools Information Management System (SIMS) for authorisation.

4/. The authorised order is then sent back via @UK PLC®

5/. The @UK PLC® system translates the order into the best format for your finance system.

6/. You process the order and send the goods.

The protocol for exchanging shopping baskets is Shopping Basket Xchange protocol, and @UK PLC® provide classes to implement sbXp™ on ASP and dotNet.

SiteGenerator OrderXchange™ is £ 1,500 per year.

The implementation classes in JavaScript for ASP and C# for dotNet are £300 (one off) and can be accessed from vbScript and vb dotNet.

Background Information
Previous to OrderXchange™ there were a number of finance specific Punchouts (Oracle, SAP) and Ariba format. Punchout was the process for going from one system to another to build up an order. However all of these made two major assumptions.

1/. The finance system started the transaction.

2/. Only a single merchant was used.

OrderXchange™ is a new protocol that overcomes these obstacles with a much simpler transport mechanism.

1/. Transaction can start at either Supplier Website or Finance System.

2/. Supports Multiple Merchants (and unlimited currencies, tax rates and discounts)

3/. Supports structured extended information. e.g. Business Cards, Theatre Tickets, Company Formations and other processes that need additional information carried through the basket.

4/. Uses HTTP POST as both transport mechanism and messaging protocol. No requirement for client XML generators or parsers.
