Punchout
cXML Punchout developed by Ariba, offers a mechanism to integrate an existing ecommerce website with the @UK System.
cXML via @UK allows buyers from many organistions to connect to your website and pull back a basket into their finance system through a single common connection. cXML also allows you to receive orders and return invoices and credit notes electronically.
In order to implement cXML Punchout you need an existing e-procurement website along with access to programming skills in a server side language such as .net, java or php.
cXML is very different from most other electronic business protocols. cXML is a streamlined protocol intended for consistent communication of business documents between procurement applications, e-commerce hubs and suppliers. Whilst the protocol does not include the full breadth of interactions some parties may wish to communicate. However, through the use of Extrinsic elements and newly-defined domains for various identifiers, it is easily expanded.
A full description of the cXML protocol can be found at http://cxml.org.
For more information regarding cXML on the @UK marketplace please contact us and one of our team will be happy to discuss punchout in more detail.
