The Libra Company
The Libra Company approached @UK through our partner vipamedia, who specialise in click and create publishing, and needed to be able to take the entire Libra catalogue, upload it and and 'ecommerce' it, to enable customers to create an order online.
The company profits are up 23% on last year – partly thanks to the new website, and the value of orders through the site is more than twice what was projected for the first year of online sales;
"I am delighted at the response from our customer base to the new Libra website. The market research conducted by Libra on its customerbase at the outset of this project pointed to the fact that many customers would not venture onto the site, prefering the more traditional paper-based presentation. In spite of this we have been pleasantly surprised at the interest and subsequent orders which the site has generated.
Its' ease of use means that many of our customers have been 'converted' and now use the site for their re-orders rather than calling the sales office or reps! 11 months on we have already doubled the revenue target set for sales on the site in the first year. @UK were a pleasure to work with, responding quickly to our development requests. They delivered a relatively inexpensive solution on time and within budget and we reap the rewards on a daily basis."

Yugioh Trading Cards Ltd
Yugioh Trading Cards Ltd began trading in 2003 by Harry Taylor.
The impetus to start the business came from Harry after discovering just how expensive the cards were to purchase, as his son collected the cards as a hobby. Harry wanted to offer these cards to children and parents at a discounted rate to high street retailers such as Woolworths and Toys r us.
Harry formed his Ltd company through @UK PLC following a recommendation from a friend. Following the formation of Yugioh Trading Cards Ltd, Harry then purchased a domain name and set up his website with @UK.
'Setting up the website using the @UK PLC templates was easy. The initial site took a few hours to set up including uploading our initial 40 or so products'.
Since setting up the website, Yugioh Trading Cards Ltd has continued to expand. Upon starting the business, turnover was around £500 per month which has now risen meteorically to £30,000 per month.
Ripping Yarns.com
RippingYarns.com was a venture started in 2002 by Ian Robertson as an alternative income stream to his main business. Ian spotted an unfulfilled demand for second hand classic adventure books and discovered some could be sold for £700 to £900. To make such expensive books more accessible, RippingYarns.com set out to sell ebook reprints, which could be directly downloaded from a website.
After searching for a quick, affordable way to set up a website and sell online, Ian found that @UK's SiteGenerator product suited his requirements perfectly. In addition to being able to sell tangible products and services, SiteGenerator also had the functionality to sell downloadable documents.
2 years on, RippingYarns.com has seen a substantial growth in profits and has now become an independent publisher selling both hard copy and ebooks.
